The Janusz Korczak Living Heritage Association started. 41 years ago!

Thanks to my mother and father. After beeing in Sweden just for one year they were working actively in their common field - Pedagogy at the Stockholm Teacher's College. At that time Janusz Korczak and his work was almost unknown in Sweden.

My parents did and forwarded first translations of Korczaks works to young Swedish researchers (at that time) and so it started. Place was Stockholm, Svenska Dagbladets house at Kungsholmen.

My parents new friends in Sweden, from the same, 1969-emigration joined them and supported the idea of:

They are gone now, all of them.

Each time I am going to my parents grave, I am also visiting their friends graves, I am speaking few words with them as well.

Idag, den 20 november - Barnkonventionens dag 

Förenta nationernas konvention om barnets rättigheter eller Barnkonventionen är en traktat som antogs av FN:s generalförsamling den 20 november 1989 och utgör en del av folkrätten. 193 länder har ratificerat konventionen.

Janusz Korczak var en av initiativtagarna till det internationella reformarbete som idag knyts till FN:s konvention om barnets rätt. 

Ni säger, att det är svårt att umgås med barn.
Ni har rätt.
För vi måste sänka oss till deras nivå – säger ni.
Ni har fel. …
Det är inte det som tröttar oss.
Utan det, att vi tvingas klättra, för att nå upp till
deras känslor.
Sträcka på oss. Stå på tå.
För att inte såra dem.

Pańska Skórka (The Lord’s crust) – 

an icon of my childhood in Warszawa

When you ask about Pańska skórka anywhere else in Poland nobody will probably seem to know what you are talking about… Pańska skórka? What is it? Although known for more than 100 years it remained as Polish capital Warszawa special candy.

Pańska Skórka is a type of chewy candy (similar to taffy) sold at cemetery or ice rinks. I think I bought it twice in my entire life at Torwar ice rink in Warszawa. Torwar was the only ice rink in Warszawa with "open roof". I remember that Dog shows also took place there.

I was always mixing the name
