These dramatic images were shot in Stockholm during my walk with Nelly.
This geometric composition is composed by steps with sand rests (against ice protection) and the rack shadows.
The very sharp light and strong contrasts of the streaky shadows add depth and drama to the scene, and evoke the dazzling light and hot sun of the cold North.
Black and white photography is all about contrasts and tones, and this image is a spectacular example of just that – but it also evokes the visual purity of composition in its distilled, essential beauty.
