August 12, 1942 - Deportations from Bedzin and Sosnowiec to Auschwitz
Some of them from Bedzin and Sosnowiec survived the deportation to Auschwitz and the Holocaust. They were brought from Bergen-Belsen by White boats to Sweden during June-July 1945. Many of them died almost directly after arrival!

Swedish Holocaust Memorial Association is taking care of their graves and memory. They are numerous cases as Fany Worcman Gluckstern described - "His parents, nine out of twelve siblings and many relatives were there. All of them were send to Auschwitz to be murdered".

Stockholm Jewish congregation (info@jfst.se) has big difficulties to understand the Holocaust and the link between murdered parents and siblings and the graves of the Holocaust victims buried in Stockholm.

In late July 2020, on 75 anniversary of the UNRRAs White boats action and following death of almost 100 Holocaust survivors Aron Verständig (info@jfst.se) ordered desecration of the Holocaust Monument that was placed between the graves. Graves of girls from Bedzin and Sosnowiec. Girls that were 11-12 years old when WWII started. The monument "6 stones - 6 millions" was for us, second generation, a link between parents and siblings murdered in 6 death camps and lonely Holocaust survivors buried in Sweden

There were the memorial stones placed. R.I.P girls although Jewish Congregation took away the memory of your parents and siblings. Separation that is never going to be forgotten.

Many of you, young girls buried in Stockholm witness the separation of the Sosnowiec and Bedzin families on August 12th when Jews in the ghetto were divided into four groups. First group – youths aged 16 to 24, the second – work permit holders. In the the third group – families with children and the elderly. Families of youths aged 16 to 24 that were selected into the first group. The third group was the first to be loaded on the train directed to Auschwitz and were murdered there!
