Education of the "Holocaust Children" after WWII - It started in Sweden and was continued in the detention camps on Cyprus and thereafter in Eretz Israel.

Numerous children on the photos above were 3-7 years old when WWII started. They never started ordinary schools. On the top picture there are Jewish children, liberated in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp and brought to Sweden by UNRRAs action in June-July 1945, later known as White Boats.

Numerous children left thereafter Sweden in January 1947 on S/S Ulua, later Haim Arlosorof. The ship was later stormed by British Navy commando troops at the shore of Haifa and all passengers including children, were imprisoned on Cyprus (lower picture). Several children groups were later in 1947 let into Eretz Israel where their education continued.
DP-2 card from Lübeck -  Observe (20) Signature of Registrand EGON HOL.  Egon was just 6 months when WWII started. Egon Holländer’s mother Elisabeth died 1945 in Bergen-Belsen of typhus; she was 34 years old. Probably she was the one to teach Egon to write. Egon was one of the Jewish children, liberated in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp and brought to Sweden by UNRRAs action in June-July 1945, later known as White Boats.
