60 percent of suicide attempts from Stockholm bridges can be linked to Västerbron, which connects the island of Södermalm with island of Kungsholmen.

In 2012 the city of Stockholm added fences on top of the existing ones to prevent suicides attempts.

In New York, The Port Authority plans to install a suicide-prevention fence on the George Washington Bridge by 2024.
