Hovevei Zion - Lovers of Zion - Katowice Conference 1884.

The birth of the Zionist movement in Poland is connected to the activity of Hovevei Zion (Lovers of Zion) groups emerging in Poland at the beginning of the 1880s in Warsaw and Łódz. Between November 6th and 11th, 1884, thirty-six participants of that movement from Russia, the Land of Israel, France, Great Britain, and Romania came to a meeting that subsequently became known as the Katowice Conference.
