Tage Erlander at Landskrona Children Hospital: ...it was the first time that one could see how children's bodies reacted to the disgrace of the concentration camps.

No, it was of course even more difficult to meet the refugee children in the newly established children's hospital in Landskrona*.

Nowadays, television has familiarized us with starving children's swollen stomachs and spider legs, their heavy heads and their large shiny eyes. But then it was the first time that one could see how children's bodies reacted to the disgrace of the concentration camps.

Tage Erlander was a Swedish politician who served as as well as Prime Minister of Sweden from 1946 to 1969, Erlander memoirs* were published in six volumes.
