Janusz Korczak lived and worked in a room in the attic (see the top picture) which was destroyed during WWII and not rebuilt.

Janusz Korczaks great grandfather was a glazier and according to Korczak he fixed glass so that there shall be light!
After WW II, new windows (less high) were installed on the ground floor.
