On "Ulua Day" February 28th, 1947 - the Swedish Holocaust Memorial Association - SHMA awarded 14 Holocaust Survivors the title Distinguished Member of SHMA.



S/S Ulua - From Sweden to Haifa, arrived at 10.30 on February 28, 1947.

Swedish Holocaust Memorial Association - SHMA awarded to the persons listed below the title Distinguished Member of SHMA and forwarded the memorial book "The Liberated 1945..." by Roman Wasserman Wroblewski. This particular group of Holocaust Survivors came to Sweden at the end of WWII and settled thereafter in Eretz Israel.

Bella Garfinkel Rozenberg, Gad Ginosar, Eva Lifshitz Hersberg, Sara Har Tov, Lea Lazar, Ofra Lustgarten (Frydman Hela), Rina Fried, Naomi Granek Shneor, Shulamit Ben Efraim, Tova Kaz, Zecharia Zederman, Chava Bresler Kahana, Miki Greenwald and Shraga Milstein.

Swedish Holocaust Memorial Association - SHMA awarded the title Distinguished Member of SHMA to Elie Nusbaum and Amir Roggel for outstanding work with the database about Maapilim and other Holocaust survivors that arrived in Eretz Israel during the end of WWII.


Distinguished SHMA - member Naomi Shneor. 

She came from Bergen-Belsen to Sweden with White Boat M/S Rönnskär in 1945. Left Sweden on S/S Ulua to build Eretz Israel in January 1947. She lost her entire family in the Holocaust. Actually, her mother died 2 weeks after the liberation of Bergen-Belsen.

...lost her son Efraim, a company commander in the Golani Brigade in 1973....
