Old Orphans and New Orphans - Israel Today - "No cause, no war is worth depriving children of their natural right to happiness" wrote Janusz Korczak.

"No cause, no war is worth depriving children of their natural right to happiness" wrote Janusz Korczak.

I just came back from Israel. This time I was interviewing the Orphans that arrived in Israel after WWII ended. They are 80 plus of course. One of the last orphans, Holocaust survivors.

My former trips in Israel were also dedicated to meet the orphans, orphans from the Korczaks Orphanage in Warsaw.

36 hours after I left Israel there are suddenly new orphans, Jewish children. Their parents were murdered on October 7th, 2023 by Hamas terrorists. Often were also their brothers and sisters murdered in front of them.

Janusz Korczak wrote, “War is an abomination. Especially because no one reports how many children are hungry, ill-treated, and left without protection. Before a nation goes to war it should stop to think of the innocent children who will be injured, killed, or orphaned. No cause, no war is worth depriving children of their natural right to happiness.”
