Korczak - Ghettos - Holocaust and the Swedish Red Cross as reported by JTA

I was reading telegraph messages from JTA that were dedicated to Janusz Korczak, Warsaw Ghetto, Holocaust and Swedish Red Cross. In Poland JTA was known as ŻAT - Żydowska Agencja Telegraficzna. JAT started February 6, 1917 r.)

Swedish Jews in Nazi-occupied Countries Warned to Return to Sweden
Swedish Jews in Nazi-occupied countries now face the alternative of either returning to Sweden or being deported by the Nazis to unknown destinations for slave labor, the Swedish press reported today.
While non-Jewish citizens of Sweden are treated as neutrals in Nazi-held territories, Jewish holders of Swedish passports have been informed that if they do not leave for Sweden within a few weeks ,they will be ordered to don a Mogen David and will be sent to labor camps in occupied eastern lands where they will be treated as are the Jews of the conquered countries.

Frits Bauer, director of the Swedish Red Cross, has resigned in protest against the refusal of the Nazis to permit the sending of food and medicine to the ghettos in Poland, according to reports appearing in the local press.
Simultaneously, Madame Alva Myrdal, prominent Swedish scientist who is active in movements to aid the Jews in occupied Europe, writing in the Stockholm Aftontidningen, declared that "from her own sources" she has been informed that 5,000 to 6,000 Jews are dying in the ghettos of Poland every day and that "the deportations and slaughters are continuing."

Brutal Extermination of Jewish Children by Nazis Cited in Polish Manifesto
The manifesto declares that "thousands of Jewish children perished in Poland side by side with grown-up Jews during the so-called liquidation of the Jewish ghettos." It cites a number of the especially brutal incidents, including the case of the Jewish orphan home in Warsaw where all the children were "deported" to death together with their teachers and the director, Janusz Korczak.
